PRESS RELEASE – CASEFILE: ARKHAM RETURNS!

The acclaimed supernatural noir series returns with another hardboiled tale about a detective, a dame, and the vengeful spawn of an ancient god.

Earlier this year author Josh Finney (World War Kaiju) and artist Patrick McEvoy (Lost In Space) turned heads with CASEFILE: Arkham. Described by critics as a perfect blending of the hardboiled detective fiction of Raymond Chandler and the eldritch horror H.P. Lovecraft, the graphic novel plunged reader into the darkest corners of Arkham, New England. Hot on the heel of this success, 01Publishing has launched a Kickstarter to bring readers the another tale from the casefile of detective Hank Flynn.

When an old friend shows up at Flynn’s office waving a gun and rambling about “the Abyss of the Shoggoths,” the detective is pulled into a case of love, revenge, and an elite family’s generational feud—one which just so happen to have interbred with the spawn of a Sumerian God. Entitled CASEFILE: Arkham: Her Blood Runs Cold, the graphic novel is intended to run approximately 120 pages, plus additional content.

THE KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN

Casefile: ARKHAM is currently seeking support on Kickstarter. The campaign will be running until September 24th. The campaign needs a total of $10,000 to complete production of the art and print the book at the best quality possible.

ABOUT THE CREATORS

JOSH I. FINNEY — Author and occasional artist, Josh Finney is the mind behind the awarding winning graphic novels Titanium Rain,Utopiates, and World War Kaiju. He is best known for penning stories that are heavy on action, yet always delve into heady subjects such science, politics, and philosophy. In another life, he was an illustrator for DC’s Batman/Catwoman, has done concept design for Star Trek: Enterprise, and created cover art for countless 90′s era industrial & techno bands.

PATRICK McEVOY — Patrick McEvoy is one of your favorite artists. Seriously. You just didn’t know it. You may not recognize his name, but you know his art. McEvoy has spent the better part of a decade illustrating some of the most loved and memorable art to come out of the H.P. Lovecraft mythos. Card games, novels, posters, t-shirts—you’ve seen and probably own at least one piece of McEvoy’s art. He’s best known for his work on Arkham Horror, Call of Cthulhu, and oh yeah…a little known title called Game of Thrones.

unleash-the-fanboy-logo-textDaniel Alvarez of Unleash The Fanboy just gave Casefile: ARKHAM a whopping 9 out of 10 rating!

The usage of Lovecratian monsters/ghouls is neither underplayed nor overplayed. They’re given fantastic build-up that when the big climax happens it’s extra effective. In a story like this, a careful balance between showing and not showing them is the goal, and it’s certainly achieved.

Comic Wow just gave Casefile: ARKHAM a stellar and annotated review.

“This is a really amazing book, with a lot of really cool references and hidden meanings. If you don’t know them, you’ve got a really good story. If you do know them, you’ve got a really amazing story. There are certainly more of them than I would have expected…but they did keep my eyes glued to the pages, looking for more. The plot itself is really interesting with supernatural ghouls and real magick (with a “k”) being explored. This is definitely up my creepy alley. It’s definitely worth the read, so give it a read as soon as you can…” – Bhavna Bakshi /  ComicWow.com
